Breaffy GAA currently cater for children of all ages, from our nursery at under 6 level all the way to young adults at under 19s. We have over 200 children registered to play. Our players come from the areas of Breaffy, Ballyheane, Errew and Derrywash. We have a dedicated group of coaches, mentors and volunteers who dedicate so much of their time and effort into nurturing Breaffy GAA’s future stars, so they can progress to represent our senior team.
Over the years, our underage teams have won numerous West Mayo and county titles at all age groups. A number of our players progressed from Bord na nÓg level, all the way to representing Mayo at Inter-County level (Minor, U21, Senior), with Aidan O’Shea (3) and Matthew Ruane (1) achieving All Star awards for their outstanding performance in a Mayo jersey. Oisín Tunney also received an All Star in 2019 for his standout performances at the minor grade for Mayo. In 2013 & 2016, 3 of our Bord na nÓg players Michael Hall, Liam Irwin and Matthew won All Ireland medals at Minor and U21 level, with each of them playing staring roles.
