This month’s edition contains the news that Connacht GAA have been announced amongst the first round of successful applicants for Department of Rural and Community Development Minister Michael Ring’s €1 billion Rural Regeneration and Development Fund.
€2.1 million of funding will go towards the development of the a new 150x100m Air Dome with a height of 26 metres at the Connacht GAA Centre in Bekan. The new facility will contain a full size GAA field, a gym with testing area and office space.
Also included is news of Connacht GAA’s new Friday Night Lights initiative where over 350 Under 14 Gaelic Football players participated in a range of games to hone their skills.
The winners of the Connacht club grounds of the year have been announced. We congratulate our neighbours in Castlebar Mitchels who were the recipients of the Mayo award.
